How DO they choose the "right" one? are some Babels holier than others? What about those 70 "secret" gospels?

The bible. It's sort of a never ending craft project that christians change to fit their mood.

The Bible probably is the winner. Not only in most versions but most languages too. No other book has been so widely respected and bitterly hated at the same time. At different periods in history, it was against the law to own a bible in the native language. That being said, if u compare most bibles, they are remarkabley similar. There may be different words that give the same thought, or there may be a few blatant word insertions or removals. The best way is to get several different bibles and compare. As far as secret gospels go, most don't even understand the simple and straightforward books of Matthw, Mark, Luke , and John. They give us all the information we need and even John admits that if everything that Jesus did was written down, the world could not contain the scrolls- John 21; 25.
Anything more or less added to these only confuses readers, and also, most of these gospels have found to be written by the Gnostics. U can research these people and draw your own conclusions.

The Bible has many different versions to it, and I'm sure they've got a very good reason for it. But the Qur'an has only one version to it. It's never been changed, and so there is no "holier" one.

qur'an had only one version that there is no single word get changed or removed since it sent to ppl "1400 year and more" .. coz Allah(god ) protect it by him self.
