I need information on what the difference is between a LCD HDTV and a LCD Projection TV. Is it better to have a built in digital tuner, or a built in ATSC Tuner. What are the big things to know before buying a new tv.

You definately want to go with HDTV compatible. You could go LCD or DLP, plasma or projection, both have great pictures. I have a 51" DLP rear projection and I bought the HD antenna since I don't have digital or HD cable, and the antenna is awesome. You get about 15 extra HD channels. We bought a separate tuner with Dolby digital surround sound. We have both a Panasonic 52" LCD HDTV and a Toshiba DLP &both have excellent pictures. The DLP is a little more clear. Hope this helps.

A Digital tuner IS an ATSC tuner....it recieves HD broadcasting without a "SET Top Box" reciever.

LCD projection is more reliable than DLP or Plasma, less parts to fail inside.

Sony makes an LCOS TV that is just as reliable as LCD.....the model will have the SRX or SXR designation in the model number if it is LCOS.....IT is as clear as the DLPs are, without the extra parts that fail.

If you want to keep up with the times, get
an HDTV with the digital tuner so you'll be
ready for the mandatory analog to digital
broadcasting switch in 2009.

Sony has HDTVs with the digital tuner. It
is in their latest direct-view LCD models.

When you choose a TV, ideally get a TV
with the horizontal dimensions equal to
anywhere between ¼ and ½ the viewing
distance (e.g. if you'll be viewing at about
10 feet away from the TV's position, then
get one that is anywhere between 30" to
60") for ideal viewing.

I have a Philips 42 Plasma TV and love it, if you want a TV that is less then 6 inches deep get a LCD or Plasma, if you don't mind the depth get a DLP or LCOS if you want a big cheaper TV and I don't know if HD CRTs are any good.

i have basic cable witch sucks on my HDTV but i have a $20 antena and can pick up all kinds of junk in HD for free

on a similar time as i could say that 32 is only too massive for a video show, to each and each his own. You have been making use of a 37 so a minimum of you heading down. Samsung's tend to be fairly outstanding so which you will decide to play with the settings or extra beneficial yet get it calibrated. As for the 60/a hundred and twenty... you're somewhat going to decide to close off the 120hz. Samsung calls it automobile action Plus if I keep in mind appropriate. All it is going to do is reason video lag and avert you gaming. this is only extra processing that doesn't could desire to take place on a similar time as gaming. additionally activate entertainment or interest mode besides to velocity issues up slightly extra. desire that helps.
