I2dI+3=21 You have to isolate the varible, subtract three from both sides. you get:
I2dI=18 next, divide both sides by two you get:
IdI=9 the anwser is an absolute value so d can be positive or negative 9

subtract 3 from both sides:
|2d| = 18
divide both sides by 2:
|d| = 9
