Why would God himself be religious, Religion is a system in which we praise God. Religion keeps us morally correct and helps us to live good lives. God is perfect, he doesn't need religion, he's helping us.

No one can approach God without being perfect.

Because not everyone believes in the same god. Different religions preach their interpretation of their god, not a universal god that applies to all religions.

and youre correct. religion is just a bunch of rites people do to be close to god. these rites mean nothing to him, since its very clear in the scriptures, the only thing he wants is for us to believe in him and that he sent jesus christ to take care of our sins so we could have eternal life, as stated in romans 10:9-10.
