I get that constuction work (manual labor) is a really dirty job. What I don't get is why you would let your hands get so gross, that a girl dosen't want you to touch her. WHY!!!???????

Of course they can wash their hands before they touch you -
but it's honest work & there's nothing wrong with a man's hands when he's used them to earn his living. If it's so distasteful to you then for heavens' sake, get another boyfriend who has a desk job & will have soft, clean hands with a manicure, perhaps . . .

It IS a dirty job, and is very rough on the hands. I used to date a construction worker and he would use that orange soap with pumice in it to get rid of all the crud that he collected on them at work. They will have rough skin on their hands from their work, and will also get cuts and abrasions, which allows the dirt to get deeper. I never had that problem with the guy that I dated, though - he was really anal about his hands. He would always keep them clean. Of course they were rough, but clean none the less! Any person who walk around with dirty hands does not have an excuse other than laziness.

It is called "it is all about me"...... many men feel that a woman is lucky to have them in any way they want to present themselves. Don't fall for that. If a man does not clean himself up for you while he is dating or trying to get to know you, believe me, it will not be pretty later. That it is all about me attitude can show itself as controlling, selfish, or uncommitted to anyone but themselves. Don't fall for the line that they cannot clean their hands........ of course they can. If they scrub their hands on a daily basis they can be clean. Most mechanics and folks that do dirty labor use special gloves as well --- their hands do not get that dirty.
An answer to your question is - - - because they do not care.... that is why.

You can usually tell alot about a persons hands if they work hard or not!!! I don't know what you mean by gross!! Dirty?? If so just good old washing does the trick!!! Dirt under the fingernails??????? Fingernail clippers??? or maybe a manicure???

as my old man says.... "my parents taught me to work" by all means possible... i told him that if he wore some impact gloves at work it would at least lessen the ickiness... and i am all wierd anyways about touching (GERMS.... GROSS) i don't even Kiss my man.
