towards mexicans, indians or anyone who can't speak english...when americans are known for having altered spelling and grammar (so as to make it "easier" for them to understand? neighbor? color? write me instead of "write to me"... I've just seen a list of scathing postings from americans (about the mexicans) calling these human beings "animals" (mongrels) and other such vile and derogatory things. When in truth the puritans who landed their many moons ago, effectively stole land from the native indians. Then furthermore, when my best friend passed through the states (hosting educational seminars) he got a "thorough search" at the airport because he "looked asian"...i mean really, american buses are numbered because most americans are too thick to read their destinations by themselves...so its almost unfair posing an intelligent question like this...but surely, on the grounds of a loving God that most of you stand for (as I do) why are u all filled with such hatred??

Too many people let the TV media tell them what to think. The media thrives off negativity and hatred.

You are obviously upset about your best friend. Anger clouds perspective so I will try to help you gain an understanding of the current events of the U.S. with regard to immigration so you can see why so many Americans are frustrated:

The main issue is property tax. Undocumented immigrants who get injured are given the same treatment as other Americans but have no obligation to pay for those services because they have no official income. Who has to pay the hospital bill? The American citizens in the form of tax. Since it can not come out of income taxes or sales taxes, it comes out of property taxes for whatever area the immigrant migrated. Keep in mind that in the past 6 years the number of undocumented workers more than doubled so it is inevitable for property taxes to increase, some areas had dramatic tax increases.

In regards your hateful comment of puritans stealing land from indians, though this is historically accurate, it can not be used as a factor in governing a country. The history of the world is full of countries who started with one race and ended with another. Since those involved have been dead for hundreds of years, do you think it is fair to put people on trial who were not born yet?

Let us stop your fiction.....

Americans do not like illegal aliens. Americans want people to enter into the US legally, the way their ancentors came here. IS it too much to ask for people to not break the law? As far as the language, what is wrong with wanting people that live here to speak a common language.. is communication not the foundation to a good relationship? By the way your friend having to go through a search at the airport.. good.. I want the airways to be safe.. I don't even care if I get search if it means we are safe.. So maybe you are looking for the descruction of the US since you don't want to have security at airports maybe I should call you Jihad Jane

Just last night as I was driving down my street - I live in a town with a large Hispanic presence - I could see a Hipanic male in his early twenties looking my direction. He waited until I was nearly to where he was standing and then slowly walked across the street in front of me. Of course, I had to come to a near stop. He just looked in our direction and spit toward us. Now, I didn't do anything to him or any other Hispano in my town, so don't talk to me about being hate-filled and don't even suggest that some of you people act that way because you're oppressed by whitey.
I lived in a neighborhood for a while when I was a kid where I got by butt kicked by the Mexicans at least once a week. It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been just one of them (you) but it would be two or three. I grew up around la raza and the chicanos and I can tell you and everyone else that there are few groups that I've ever come across who are more hate-filled than them. And you know what? I happen to like Mexicans and have several who are good friends and we spend time in each others homes.

I think it is more frustration than hatred.

When you see hospitals close because of the over load of uninsured people, the rise of crime, the burden on the taxpayer for schools and other government services, people are just fed up with the system.

Every other civilized nation in the world has an immigration policy, as does the US. However; when the borders are unprotected and undocumented people are allowed to come into the country unchecked, the government has failed their people.

Can I come to your country unchecked and be allowed to draw social services and break laws?

Don't you live in the country that oppressed blacks for how many years with violence and hatred?

Until you live in a perfect world, please do something to be a part of the solution.....not the problem.

Well, I for one am not full of hatred. I do think that if you are going to live in a country that is not where you were born, you should attempt to learn the language so that you can communicate. If I moved to Mexico or France or China or anyplace whose language is different, I would attempt to learn the language.
I don't mind people from other countries coming here to live as long as it is done legally. I know our ancesters were immigrants.
In this day and time you simply have to have laws that govern immigration.

I hear you and I agree with you that name calling and hatred should have no place in our modern global community. Unfortunately most of us Britons also feel the same toward immigrants, calling non-white citizens Pakis and such. Let's try to clean up our own house first and then maybe the Americans might learn something from our immigration situation.

An American or Canadian is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.
An American or Canadian may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans or Canadians.
An American or Canadian is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America or Canada than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.
An American or Canadian is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American or Canadian lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence (or in Canada , the Bill of Rights), which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.
An American or Canadian is generous. Americans or Canadians have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.
When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans and Canadians came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!
As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan
Americans and Canadians welcome the best of everything, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best services. But they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America , the Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America
Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September
11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American or Canadian if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans and Canadians are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American or a Canadian

We dont HATE anyone. Abide by the Law and come in LEGALLY thats all.

We aren't. At least I am not. I am against illegal immigration because I think we need to protect our schools and services. Mass immigration of poor people who can't pay their way for those services degrades them for our own people. I am in favor of funding quality education and a better life for Americans before funding services for foreigners.

I've been patted down at airports and xrayed, and I am of Germanic heritage. Why does your friend think that when it happened to him it was because he was Asian?

And by the way, have you ever been here yourself? Or are you jumping to conclusions about the 'vast majority of Americans' out of sheer prejudice and limited experience?

I think you are far too pleased with yourself to be persuaded to any point of view other than the one you want to hold.

Whatever.
