Whatever the implications are from violating fire codes.

It's against code to prop open any fire door unless the means you are using to prop the door is fire controlled. A fire extinguisher certainly doesn't quality.

It's against code to use fire protection equipment for any means other than it's stated purpose. Using an extinguihser as a "door prop" is another violation. So is leaving an extinguihser sit on the floor as NFPA 10 states that they must all be mounted with the bottom a minimum of 4" from the floor.
