Besides maintaining a balanced, healthy diet, a good exercise program is very helpful both for fitness and weight loss.

The right kind of strength training can help promote "lean" muscle growth -- I'm sure you don't want to look like the Incredible Hulk!

Muscle tissue increases your metabolic rate and burns more calories. If you replace your flabby muscle with good, strong muscle, you will not only be getting more fit, but you will be encouraging your body to help you burn more fat and lose more excess weight!

Eating a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help you control any non-mealtime cravings you may have. If you still have cravings, try a healthy snack like nuts or another fruit.

And drink a proper amount of water to keep your body from being stressed. Not soda, or Red Bull, or any of that kind of stuff. BUT, a decent cranberry juice is always good for the health of your urinary system.

Start now! Don't expect weight loss to be quick, as it rarely is, and is often just water loss that comes right back. Get a little more exercise, eat a little healthier foods, and a little less calories total, and you will be fine. No one expects you to be a different person on prom night; just the best version of who you already are.
