I SUCCESSFULLY potty trained my three yr old girl when she was about 18 or 19 months old. It was so nice, and not even very hard. And no, it WAS NOT ME doing all the work. Now I have a little boy who is 16 months old and I want to get him potty trained in the very near future. I am pregnant with a baby due in February, and I definately would like to see it happen before then. My daughter was potty trained in about a week. For those of you who think I should wait for a couple years, you're wasting your time telling me that because I have had good experience.

all children are different what worked for one may not work for another. i understand your excitement though. you should try it and see if it works out. GOOD LUCK!

It has worked for you before, so go ahead and try with your son. Just know that in general, boys develop a bit slower and generally potty train later than girls. If he gives you signals he is not interested or it turns into a battle, walk away from it and try again a few weeks later.

I personally tried to train my daughter that young and she made it perfectly clear she was not interested in my attempts by putting the potty seat in the closet with a blanket over it. My son has developmental issues and was over 5 before we finally manged to get the bathroom issues worked out. So I never had a child ready at such a young age.

I tend to think we as a society try to push potty training before many kids are ready. Of course, the best person to decide that is the mom. Give it a try..see where it goes...and be patient. That works no matter how old!

Boys usually always take longer to potty train than girls, so start now. The key is to stay consistant. It took about a month for my god son to be fully potty trained. Make him get on the pot every couple of hours. Try making a potty chart with everday of the week on it. For each day that he doesn't have an accident let him put a sticker on it. Give him a reward for each week that he has five or more days without accidents. If he goes the full week without accidents, then let him pick and activity that he wants everyone to do as a family.

I AGREE!
Mine was about 12 months when I started putting him on the potty when I noticed he was using the bathroom, then he would say bye bye to it and flush, I know this sounds groose but he was always in there when i went, this is a big factor, they need to see its ok and its what your suppose to do, I have a friend who refuses to let her daughter in while she even pees, and her daughter is scared to death of the potty, almost 3! WELL NO WONDER!!!

Good Luck to you! I agree completley! my son is the only one in his class fully potty trained! hes 2 now! even at night he is trained! 9 with the occasional accident!)
THEY LOVE IT AT DAYCARE! I feel like the best mom ever! ha ha ! KEEP IT UP! I think the whole worls should be like us!

My mother had me completely potty-trained before my first birthday - why wait until 2, 3, 4 or later? Good luck!

My mom told me that she started potting training all of her 4 girls at 18months. She said by the age of 2yrs old we were completely potty trained. I haven't had to potty train yet but I plan to start trying at 18 months.
