The content of the text message would make the difference.

If you're just texting annoying crap that has no bearing on anything he's doing at the moment in time then, yes, it can be extremely annoying. I know that at my job I have a strict no-cellphone policy (which doesn't stop me from carrying it in my pocket anyway), and sometimes my fiance texts messages me. When I forget to turn off the ringer and my boss hears it going off I'll get in trouble. And, at that point, the text message better have been darned important to warrant the butt-chewing my boss gave me.

However, if it's either something important or something that does not require a response (little love letters, reminders, etc) there shouldn't be any kind of problem. Guys like that stuff just as much as girls do, though most of them will never admit it. We like to be told we're appreciated or cared about for no apparent reason other than you felt like saying it. Just remember that men don't generally respond well to the sap-factor no matter what the context or setting.

My final advice would be, instead of sending a bunch of short messages rapidly, THINK about what you're trying to convey before you start and fire off one or two well-thought-out text messages or love notes or whatever. The content will be appreciated just as much as the fact that it came in 1 or 2 messages instead of 4 or 5 or eleventeen...

It would annoy me if she knew that I couldn't text back at the time. If she didn't know, then it's ok until I tell her. If it's important, then I would either call or text back. If it was just "What are you doing?" then I would start to get a bit annoyed.

No i would be very happy she is obviously keen on you, so when you explain why you could not text back, i am sure she will understand, maybe you can tell her when your working, then if she does text you, she will know why you have not replied.

Yes and explain to her that if she text me and I do not reply right away its because I'm busy at work and get back to you when I can

Sexist!!!!!!!!! lol.

Find a mo to go to the loo. Text her back just saying "really busy at work right now. sorry. catch you later"

That's if you like her.

If you don't, ignore the texts and switch your phone off if you really cannot use it at work - because you are obviously READING the texts!!!

Yes it would, she should know without being told to try to text you when you are not working.

It is irritating. it takes a few seconds to reply to a text message the fact that he doesn't text you back is sign enough of that. let the boy breath a little...
