I am having trouble installing a program (System Mechanics 6 Proffessional) on my XP. The installation does not start when I insert the CD in; the other option given was to select: START, RUN,,type d:/setup.exe..(where d is the letter of my CD-ROM..My problem is that I don't know my CD-ROM. How do I solve this?

System Mechanic is a joke. There are much better programs that are free that you can use to clean spyware, adware and Viruses and monitor your system. All System Mechanic does is hog your System resources.

Double-click on the "My Computer" icon

This will show you all the drives that you have

Find the CD drive (will a little CD next to it)

Right-click on it. See if you can select "Autoplay"

If not, left click on the CD drive, double click on the file setup.exe

Open up MY COMPUTER and look for the CD drive there. Most likely, it will say CD-ROM

Look in the section that says DEVICES WITH REMOVABLE STORAGE. Double-click on the CD drive and it will start.

Also, make note of which drive that says for future reference.

Look in My Computer and see what letter it is. It is D if you have only one partition and one CD
