I wish I had a happy hopeful answer for you, but

He will never change - never never ever change for you or anyone. There is this false notion that some women have that they can somehow change their man to be who they want the man to be. They may pretend to change, to get sex, but they really don't.

The great catch-22 of relationships - women marry men hoping to change them but never will. men marry women hoping they won't change but the women change constantly.

Men and women probably wouldn't even hang out with each other if it wasn't for sex.

Well sweetie it all depends on the lesson that you are trying to teach him. Whoever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks is sadly mistaken. It may be hard at first and you might have to be patient but eventually he will get it. Honestly it change has to seriously come from within and he has to want to change in order for this to work.

Well what? Is he just a bum that freeloads from friends or family and has no ambition to do anything else? Or is he just a guy with a good career, but he makes a lot of careless mistakes that set him back? If he is the first one, get him help right away. If he is the second one, just get him a career counselor.

No. He has to want to change and will only change when he is ready. All you can do is tell him, very honestly and openly how you feel. Let him know what you think...but also let him know that you know that he is an adult and must ultimately make his own life decisions. However, you should also let him know, if those good or bad decisions affect you...you are not going to stand around and put up with it anymore. Its tough love...but if it affects you, then that's your life that he is messing with.

FYI, a law was passed in 2001 that made the words "out" and "side" one word...you can now type it as "outside." Now who needs to learn a lesson?

I don't believe it is possible to teach someone something he should have learned on his own while he maturing. What kind of lesson do you want to teach him?
