Has your mom gotten attached to your puppy also? There is no need to convince your dad. If possible let your mom keep your puppy, ask your dad if you can have a puppy, when you visit your mom with your puppy and hers, don't you think that would be a great way to share? Keeping relationships civil are very important to keeping different types of family's together. I am not an expert, just talk to your mom AND dad, and ask what they think what is the best for everyone. Especially you, they are showing you an example of years to come, lets all hope they get it right, for your sake and theirs.....

keyleigh, this could possibly be a very young childs situation!! If I have given information incorrectly please advise...

Maybe he has rules for the tennets of the building that they cannot have pets. It would not be fair to them if he, as the landlord, could own a pet and the renters could not.

What's the reason he gave you for not bringing her? If you can find that out you can build a strong case, but you need to very logical and tell him, without getting upset, why you should keep her (for companionship, because you don't feel that pets are disposable, because she means a lot to you and you don't want to have to take her to a shelter, etc)

Good luck - I really hope he lets you bring her

has he given you a reason why he wont let you bring it?? you should probably ask why if he hasnt...he may have a good reason...if he doesnt just try to work a deal with him...telling how you will take such good care of it and tell him that it will be lonely with him at work so your puppy would keep you company
