I just had to chime in, because I was waiting for someone like Kim to bash the Catholic Church, which many Protestants have quite improperly labeled the Whore of Babylon, for some 150 years now.
The Beast is a corrupt world system and the Whore is those members of the church, who commit spiritual adultery by lusting after their own desires, and after the skewed values of that corrupt world system, instead of cherishing and clinging to the holy things of God.
The cup the Whore is holding contains all the evils that result ... a truly abominable conglomeration of disgusting and nasty things ... the break up of the family, corruption in government, homosexuality, gay marriage, abortion, euthanasia, contraception, divorce, materialism, apostacy, etc.
The Catholic Church cannot be the Whore, simply because the Catholic Church belongs to Jesus, who personally founded it, and who promised to guide it, protect it, and keep it holy, until the end of time.
Plus, the Catholic Church is on record as consistently teaching against all the evils I just mentioned, and constantly proclaiming that Jesus is the Christ, the savior of the world, and the only begotten son of the living God.
Does the Beast exist today, is the Whore riding that Beast, and is the abominable cup overflowing with corruption?
Pick up any newspaper, watch CNN, or any news show, and make a list.
The bottom line is: Nobody knows when the end will come, but we've all been warned, and we've all been given the means of salvation, through Jesus Christ, and his Church.
Those who misuse, or fail to appreciate the gifts of God are spiritual adulterers and whores, who will reap what they sow.
Those who hold fast to the things of God, and who apply God's grace to their own lives, will be saved and will one day become the holy and spotless Bride of Christ, that we also read about in Revelation.

No--Babylon the Great who represents the world empire of false religion of which Christendom is a major part, is depicted as riding on the back of the wild beast which represents all human governments. The churches of Christendom rely heavily on political support and in turn the government is kept in power by the voters who are members of Christendom. Soon God will put it into the hearts of the political powers to turn on Christendom and destroy her as prophecied in Revelation. Then after her destruction, God will then destroy all human governments and only God's righteous heavenly government will remain, and there will be one true faith earthwide and those faithful ones will be loyal subjects of that government (Daniel 2:44, Revelation 17:16-17 )

look at scripture and check it out for ourselves. We find in chapter 17 of the Book of Revelation the Bible says, "I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:" And, of course, in scripture the reference to many waters means multitudes of people. Today the Vatican boasts almost one billion followers. What's that, almost a quarter of the earth's population? And it says, "With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication." If you look back in history you will see that almost every king has had political, economic or religious ties with the Vatican, starting with Constantine the Great, who was actually the first pope, and presided over the first council. Constantine was never saved. Most nations today have diplomatic representatives in the Vatican. "And the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication." We have just looked at the madness of World War II and how it was set up by the Jesuits. And the Bible goes on to say, "The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet." These are the official colors of the Vatican. "And decked with gold and precious stones and pearls." Did you know the Vatican is the wealthiest organization on the face of the earth? YOU DECIDE!
