How do you distinguish between the Christian God Jehova and the Islam god allah, if the word allah is the generic term for god.
If they say allah is god, it is like saying god is god, but the Christian God is very different that the Islamic god..
Is there a term to distinguish between the two so you can have a conversation and not have the confusion of who is whose god..??

Allah Arabic for God

Spanish Dios
French Dieu
German Gott
Italian Dio
Dutch De god
Portuguese Deus
Russian Бог
Norwegian Gud

The Bible is written by man. The Old Testament God sounds differently then the New Testament God. But they are the same God.

The Quran was written by God and given to Muhammad (pbuh) and sounds more like the God of the Old Testament.

Allah: Allah is the proper name in Arabic for The One and Only God, The Creator and Sustainer of the universe. It is used by the Arab Christians and Jews for the God (Eloh-im in Hebrew; 'Allaha' in Aramaic, the mother tongue of Jesus, pbuh). The word Allah does not have a plural or gender. Allah does not have any associate or partner, and He does not beget nor was He begotten.

Ash hadu anla illaha Illallah.

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.

Peace.

Theoretically, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity spawn from the same God. The God of Abraham and Isaac.

The stories in the old testament can be found in the Koran as well.... Noah, Moses, Abraham, and etc.... even Jesus is spoke of in the Koran....

Think about this.... I can draw a parallel all the way back to ancient Mythology to what is now known as Christianity...

Zeus (The most Powerful of the Greek Gods) had a son with a mortal virgin Alcmene. Hercules was a Mortal and a God.

At his demise he ascended to Mt Olympus and became a GOD....

Contrary to your knowledge and current day christianity, it is infact the same God! Christians have distorted scripture and under the influence of satan returned to the same sin which was committed by the generations before, ascribing partners with God.

Now the word Allah in the arabic is an exclusive one, which cannot be pluralized. The english word god is very ambiguous, moreover, if someone says god, the listener won't know if 'god' or 'God' is meant.

The arabic word for god (ordinary god) is ILA.

Allah is specifically used for the One Perfect God, nothing is comparable to Him. He is the Mighty, the Wise, the Creator of the heavens and the earth. Nothing begets Him, nor He is begotten.

The term "allah" is a perfectly acceptable English word. "Allah" itself is not a personal name so it need not be capitalized, but according to English tradition it is frequently capitalized (similar to the non-names God, Providence, Almighty, Creator, Lord, etc.).

Almost every English dictionary identifies the English term "allah" with Muslim's Islamic worship, so really no additional 'background' is necessary when using the term in this context.

The best term with which to refer to the Judeo-Christian Almighty God is His personal name, which in English is "Jehovah". As a personal name, "Jehovah" must be capitalized.

If a writer is seeking to avoid "legitimizing" a certain term, he need only enclose it consistently in quotes. With practice, a speaker can use "mini-pauses" to verbally bracket a term with unspoken quote-marks.

who says muslims and christians worship the same God? they did once, but now christians worship jesus instead.

the Muslim God is the God of the Abraham, and the Prophets.
the ONE and ONLY God who has NO SONS or DAUGHTERS. he is the creator of heaven and earth and all inbetween.

you worship Jesus Christ. or the trinity which includes Jesus as the son of God and God at the same time.

we will have to wait and see in the end. so dont sweat it pal.

Mohammad said that the Islamic God Allah is the same as the Christian/Jewish God but that name Puzzles me since 'ALLAH' is definitely not Arabic..it was the name of one of the many Pagan Gods adopted by the Arabians. Mohammad destroyed the other idols but saved 'Allah' the pagan God of creation.
As I see it, Muslims still worship a pagan Deity...'ALLAH' and still adores his aboard...the Kaaba.

Abaraham called God EL the Islamisist call God AL. You'd think as brothers they would learn to get along. The only way the world will see the Messiah is when Jews live in love and forgiveness. Then the whole world will be converted.

The Christian God is the "God of Abraham". The word, god can be used for any entity that man worships. Allah is the god of Mohammed, I guess.
