All a microwave does is excite water molecules in food, thus producing heat. It does not change the nature of the food or leave any residual radiation. If fact, some foods, like vegetables, are better cooked in a microwave than in water because none of the nutrients are leached away into the cooking water.

Now, standing too close to a microwave, especially older models, is not recommended. Prolonged exposure to the rays has been shown to cause problems. But that is not the same thing as eating food heated in one.
