Should Illegal Immigrants Be Drafted?

Let's just deal with this once an for all. Anybody coming to the US (or ilegally living in the U.S.) between the ages of 15-40 should participate in a draft, in which about 30 percent of them will be selected to join the Army, trained, and after 5 years of service will be granted full citizenship. The other 70 percent would be given work permits, and receive basic training to be in the Army Reserves (once a month). In that way the U.S. would have Millions of Men and Women in the Army... It's a win-win situation.

This "ditto" guy is really annoying, just copies and pastes the same post over and over.

That's one way the Romans handled their illegal immigrants. "Barbarians" could enter the Legion and gain Roman citizenship after service - of course I believe they had to serve 20 years. I've entertained the thought but I doubt it would be feasible.

Yea the law is the law minors are minors. Age 18 would be the starting age. I think that this should apply to all not just illegals. You do have a good point though. We need actual workable plans for the current day situation and you have your thinking cap on.

They are criminals, I know what you are thinking, and this is hard to argue. They need to be punished, to defend this country you need to give your loyalty to it. Illegal immigrants only want to punch a time clock, put in their 8 and skate, then back up and head back to Mexico after doing it for 2 years. A soldier needs discipline, a single mistake in combat can cost the lives of his fellow soldiers, and from what I seen illegal immigrants do not try to deal out quality, they only provide cheap disposable labor.

1. No Amnesty in any form for illegal aliens. Do not reward illegal behavior!

No no no no . You cannot fight for America if you are not a citizen, you have to undergo intense medical checks, tests, english tests, police checks, training.

No. They are illegals and that still would not change that they have broken the law to come here that way. Illegal is illegal, and by us modifying or codifying our rules/laws/tenets, then we are stooping down to their level. Send them back to their home whence they came.

They already are being given citizenship in exchange for their service. Now the groups like LaRaza are complaining that they are "unfairly targeting Latinos". I don't know how you can be un-fairly targeted when you have to volunteer.
