I have talked to different people and pets stores and when I tell them I give my kittens milk they say not to. However no one has given me a reason why you shouldn't. Does it hurt them? Please let me know I just want to know what is best for them.

Some cats its fine for, some its not. This is because, some cats are lactose intolerant, so they dont digest the milk properly, and it makes them sick, but others are okay with it. to be on the safe side, you shouldn't really give your cat milk, unless you know its okay for it

hers the site with more info... i hope it helps

I found this info online....

Most cats are lactose intolerant.
As a staple cats should always have fresh, cool water available to them. As long as your cat isn't lactose intolerant, milk is not bad for cats if it is given as an occasional treat (think of it as kitty junk food). The first step is to determine if your cat likes milk. If your cat does like milk then determine is he or she is lactose intolerant. If your cat is lactose intolerant then he/she will have a little diarrhea and a little stomach problems for a few days after drinking the milk. In this case you will definitely want to give your kitty a milk substitute created for cats.

Milk causes the cat to have diarhhea and then they can get dehydrated which, if it's bad enough can kill them. However, DrugMart and pet stores do sell something called CatSip which is a milk made especially just for cats.

Milk is not good for cats at all. I would take that away and stick him to drinking Water. Milk will cause your cat to have diarrhea. It won't kill them but it will cause stomach problems.

Hi ,I have cat's and dog's and i always give them there milk in the morning time and at bed time i never notice any diarrhea or vomiting, but i would add water if it is from the gallon , when i use the can milk i would add more water that it calls for , and powder milk would be the best , that is what i have been using.
good luck

Most cats are lactose intolerant, especially the adult cats. And milk will make them have diarrhea. Needless to say, that is not pleasant either for the cat or the owner!

my vet told me milk has too much fat & cats should not get too much of it, somehow their system supposedly won't break milk down too well. once in a while i was told its fine, but not daily, you be the judge, just watch your kitty's stool, if its very lose milk could have something to do with it

its just hard to digest. their bodies are only ment to take milk while they are nursing. same with humans (and its why i think so many people are lactose intolerant now a days) IMO
