...why is shells and clams found all over the world, petrefied and in the closed posision. A petrified clam in the close position? Remember that when clams die, they open, and doesnt it take millions of years for something to petrify? Or could a wordwide flood have caused this?

You mean why don't I check out christian pseudo-science?
Clams open when you COOK them because of steam pressure. Not all clams open when the die of natural causes. In fact if a clam doesn't open when you cook it, its because it was dead before you cooked it and you shouldn't eat it.
Just because you cant understand something doesn't mean that god made it happen.

When clams die, they do not have to open. Try putting a rock or a layer of silt on top of a small clam. It's an easy experiment to perform, but scientific Creationists don't need experimental data, do they? I don't need to set up the experiment, as I have the observed the phenomenon. I've taken unopened dead clams out of a bag.

No. Some species open when they die, some species close when they die. But all the same, things can get buried rapidly in a storm or whatever and that bed can be preserved for millions of years. And, not that it's relevant, things can 'petrify' fairly quickly in the right circumstances.

I'm not sure if this is a joke or if you are for real? Do you reall

If you're for real I think you need to research a bit deeper in to Geology because the people at that site are taking advantage of your ignorance.

Well, perhaps it is the fact that in order to be petrified something must be covered by soil or rocks. Something tells me the force of a clam shell trying to assume its natural position is not as strong as the gravitational force of the dirt and rocks covering it.

Petrify is a vague term, which is what you're hoping will save your skin, but let us assume for example these clams were trapped in a mudslide. They would die-the mud would "petrify" through time and hence we have "petrified" clams. You're just indulging in silly fantasies here-this isn't a serious discussion about evolution.

To answer your question, no, not all clams open up when they die. I found several dead calms in the closed position just this weekend when I went camping.
So your point is pointless.
Thanks anyway.
Peace

Oh, now I know where you get all your stupid questions. Wow how pathetically sad and ignorant. I was hopping you were a joke, but unfortunately you believe your pseudo wacko science.

Do you still believe the earth is flat? Its in the bible, why don't you believe? Is Gods word infallible? How about the sun rotating around the earth - that's also in the bible, do you still hold to those false beliefs too?

That web site was created by mentally ill people who are so desperate to hold on to their delusions that they will make up **** just to muddy up the waters... it's called baffling with bullshit, when you can't dazzle with brilliance.

Let's see...clams live in water. So a flood could cause them to die in water? Clams die in water all the time. Not very logical, is it?

That web site has got to be the goofiest site I've ever seen, including JibJab.com. But seriously, why don't you read "Our Inner Ape" by Frans De Waal? Perhaps the viewpoint of a primatologist may tone down your smugness as a Creationist.

Oh dear, here we go with Christians' skewed scientific methods of obtaining answers.

All clams open when they die, just as all humans dies with a frown and eyes closed.
