You need to make life really uncomfortable for the snorer - tennis ball sewn into a pocket on the back of pyjamas, peg on the nose, smelly sock with vick vaporub round the neck or even cotton duck tape over the mouth.

Yep get a cord or something similar, wrap gently around the offenders neck then pull savagely until the snoring stops, an advanced technique advises tying the cord and leaving in place for an hour or so to cure the problem prominently.
