my friend got her informal dress at J-Crew. very basic, and looks better than a lot of those "smocks" you see

monsoon has gorgeous dresses, but a bit pricey. just a favourite department store, pick something you love. i applaud you for not wanting the traditional white wedding. most people nowadays just want the big white wedding to be perfect and dont think about the marriag afterwards. i think your perception of weddings and marriage is excellent! congratulations and have a perfectly happy day and rest of your life with your husband! :)

Try Gottchalks or JC Pennys, or Mervens they have good informal dresses that could pass as a wedding dress, or check online at Ebay and have the dresses shipped to you overnight express.

I love to shop online. Ebay has a great selection of informal wedding dresses. So does Chadwicks and both have reasonable pricing. The style depends on your preference, time of day, weather and venue. Lots to consider.

2 weeks?
Do you have a macy's around you?
I would try a fine deparment store..... or heck David's bridal has dresses for $99.00 for off the rack! You might want to check there first- even if it's informal it would be cute to wear a wedding simple dress.

I love the dresses at Anthropologie; they're dressy and feminine, and they're always classy, never overdone. They're informal but still appropriate for a wedding. Prices run between $150 and $300, generally.

J Crew sells some beautiful dresses. Check their online catalog, but I'd suggest buying something in store since you only have 2 weeks. Congratulations!

J.Crew.com
They have very simple, yet elegant dresses that are timeless. You'll feel beautiful but you won't look like you tried too hard.

But....you're really cutting time short. The dress might be too long and you may have to have it hemmed.....I would order right away. They have next day mailing.

if you mean by casual, like no big wedding dress, then i would say like something for bloomingdales or nemius marcus. they have some eally simple dresses. i think David's Bridal might have something simple. they always have something on sale.

hope this helps

I searched for ages for a smart dress or suit and eventually found something perfect in Monsoon.
