I really miss my home town and the changing of the seasons. Is it wrong for me to insist on moving home just to make me happy? Where I come from is just outside of St.Louis in Illinois there is just so much more to do there. San Antonio is okay but its just plain boring and really hot.

Talk to your hubby, you need to tell him how you feel. You may just have home sickness, that will pass, depending on how long you have been there. Just talk to him, if you are really that unhappy there, then i do not see how you are being selfish, you moved out there for him, gave it a go, for him, you can`t help it if you do not like it. I hope it all works out for you.

Eva, I think that your best option would be to find the happy medium where you both would enjoy living. I retired from the service in 2002. My wife and I had always discussed where we wanted to live. I wanted to live in either Alaska or Maine and she in Georgia or South Carolina. We both decided that Virginia would be the place where we would both be fairly happy. I love the cold and hate the heat where she hates the cold and loves the heat. Living in Virginia was the compromise. I can survive the summers and she can survive the winters. Talk to your husband and tell him how you feel and that maybe you should start looking for another retirement city. Good luck.

Sometimes we do things for the ones we love.
I recently moved to Idaho where there is REALLY nothing to do, but it made my husband happy.
Sometimes we have to give up a little to get alot.

I know you feel home-sick. So do I, but we just have to get through the adjustment period. It's so hard I know.
