Well we noticed on Saturday that my kitten looks like hes had his whiskers cut with scissors. It's also really bristly like human stubble.
Is there any sort of whisker deformity that this is due to?
Thanks in advance - I'm so fed up of being blamed for cutting his whiskers.

Just so you know, I don't think they have been cut - I'm sure my mum, dad and 18 year old brother wouldn't cut them and I certainly haven't. Also he is not allowed out yet, and there are no other felines in the household so they've not been chewed off.

Hi Giverny, Do you have the kittens mommy!! If you do sometimes the mommy cat will chew the whiskers on some of her kittens.I don't no why,but she does.If you don't have the mommy cat,is there a younger brother or sister in the house?? If so,that's the person you want to talk to.As far as i no,there's no whisker deformity.

Well he didn't chew them off and he isn't allowed out. By process of elimination then someone in your family has cut them off. This is worrying because it means that within your immediate family you have a dangerous animal abuser who is likely to harm this kitten severely. Your parents need to get the animal out of the house and give it away for it's own safety.

My sister referred to the problem as quickly as that in case you shrink off one edge of the whiskers the cat would be imbalanced. Then our cats whiskers have been given hacked off on one side. To this present day she nevertheless claims she did not do it and that i understand i did not. Cats whiskers will strengthen decrease back to finished length. they in all possibility did not strengthen like that. only be careful of what it could get into mutually as they are nevertheless becoming decrease back, not something to be concerned approximately.

Does your kitten meet up with other cats I have 4 here and sometimes my siamese chews the ones of the others and its looks like they have been cut. It may have been done by other kittens in the litter.
