Is it hypocritical if someone consistently insults other participants, whether explicitly or implicitly, and spams the question board with numerous mindless questions that may or may not be related to the category...and then that person reports someone else for insulting other participants, spam, and wrong category?
I wasn't sure...so I thought I'd get others' thoughts on it...
Please let me know how your religious beliefs (or lack thereof) led you to the conclusion regarding the hypocrisy of the above hypothetical example. Thanks!

I do think people abuse Yahoo Answers, and some questions, I just don't believe people can really seriously want their question answered.
I think some questions are categorized incorrectly because its more likely a question will be answered if its on a popular section.
Sometimes people can be taken as sarcastic or disrespectful when they don't intend to come across that way because you have no way of knowing how another person sounds, neither can we read their body language. Plus there are so many different types of people out there that what may be insulting to one person,just isn't to another.
Yeah, my religious beliefs have nothing to do with my answer, I don't think they really apply. But in case you're wondering, I am against organized religion, but believe in freedom of religion.

Well, this morning I was very upset that my question on Hell Houses, which was not combative and very simply stated, was removed minutes after posting, but racism and questions asked in a really combative manner about other religions stayed up.
I think it's hypocritical, and I'm not speaking from religion, even though I'm Pagan. I'm speaking from the standpoint of having some manners.

I think I know what you're getting at.
Sure, it's hypocritical, but everyone is in one way or another. The important thing is how you respond when it's pointed out in you.
One thing I find very hypocritical is that the "retard" is even allowed to use that word, it would be like using the "N" word with blacks. And that the guy is using a photo of someone who is less fortunate. It's like we all get to laugh at someone who was born different.

No one should have to resort to insulting someone over any issue or belief. And yes it would be hypocritical to do as you said in the question.

No, it's a double standard.
Oops, I forgot - my "religion" is atheism. It had nothing to do with my conclusion. I googled hypocricy (which I cannot spell correctly) to verify the meaning, then determined that it is indeed more of a double standard.

The definition of hypocrisy is not a function of religion. Its written in black and white in every dictionary in America.
And you're right. To accuse someone of breaking the rules when you're doing it yourself is hypocricy.

Yes it is. The other night there wer literally 2 pages of nothing but 'retards" and "idiots" (self-professed) I asked a question saying "everyone just shut up!!" and it was immediately removed and i was reported!!! Crazy

would presume you are being reported by those who disagree with you but you are not reporting those who report you. if so this is a situation in which you must decide what to do as there is nothing many of us have control over we who are tolerant must be tolerant of those who are not.
