what happens to a cat in surgery if...?

i accidendtly fed my cat 2 or 3 of those lil circle hashbrowns from burger king not thinking that he was doing in to get fixed in a couple hours...what happens to animals when they eat a lil before surgery?

He'll throw up either while under anesthetic or upon waking, the anesthesia makes the naimal rather groggy and sick to its stomach...so yeah give your vet the heads up!

Important to tell the vet so the animal can be delayed a bit in schedule or given something to make it vomit. An animal has a tube down it's throat during surgery. Vomit can become lodged in all the wrong places. Once sedated, the animal has very little control and vimit can be dangerous.

The danger is the cat may vomit if the stomache is not empty if will possible inhale the vomit into the cats lungs causing pneaumonia or other problems.
