I suggest something very simple that won't take long to prepare nor will it take work when you arrive. How about for an appetizer some cream cheese pinwheels? They sell them at Sam's premade where all you do is thaw them out. Or you could make something like chicken crustinis. You can put them on tortilla wraps and cut them into fours or put them on sliced small bread. It's just some grilled chicken ( you could get this in the frozen section) some onions, red and green peppers sauteed together and some provolone or mozzerella on top. I'ts YUMMY

Veggie Pizza
2 tubes crosant rolls
1 pk original hidden valley ranch powder
1 8oz brick cream cheese at room temp.
1 cup miracle whip or helmans
assorted chopped veggies (carrots, celery, green onions, cucumbers, green, red, orange bell peppers-anything good cold and cut up.)
2-3 cups shredded cheddar or colby cheese (or both)

Unroll cresent rolls onto a large cookie sheet and "stretch" to fit the pan leaving more at the edges like a crust. Bake according to package directions. Allow to cool.
Mix ranch mix, cream cheese and miracle whip until on low speed until well blended. Spread on crust, top with veggies and cheese, chill for at least 1 hour before cutting.

Believe it or not, kids love this as well!

I love cooks.com. They will list the same item with different ways to make each one, some easier than the others. My aunt brought the Veggie Pizza to our gatherings. It works great at any kind of get together, even if there is a big meal planned. Have fun and happy cooking!

This is a quick, easy and great recipe for peanut butter cookies.
1 cup crunchy peanut butter, 1 egg, and 1 cup sugar. Roll into balls, flatten with fork on cookie sheet and sprinkle with a little more sugar. Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. They are so yummy and everyone likes cookies!!

Make up a big batch of taco fillings, both with hamburger and chicken or turkey. You can keep this warm in an insulated container, and everything else that goes with it is cold. Kids and grownups both eat it, which is always a plus.
