Well, first he is a child and it doesn't matter if he took the money or not, it was still wrong. No, rape is different from molestation. Rape includes actual penetration and molestation is the fondling of one's genitalia.

Your friends son is a minor so he can't give permission or implied permission for sexual contact and your friend cannot give permission for an illegal act. So it was rape or sexual abuse, the man is a pediphial, The friend and his family can report this action or the son when he is an adult can report this action and the man will go to court and go to jail. There is no statute of limitations on sex abuse crimes anymore in any state. This is serious and the boy needs counseling and the man needs to be arrested. He is already targeting another minor.

Money has nothing to do with being raped.
A prostitute can still be raped.
Rape or molestation is being forced to do something (sexual in the case of rape) against your will.
If they made an agreement about what was to take place and the man who paid him did what he wanted to, he was raped.

In any event, if your sons friend is under age it is considered statutory rape.
