If you put more than the correct amount of postage on the envelope, the post office will deliver the envelope. No sweat. I've done it more than once.
Actually, a postman that I know says that the post office is technically supposed to give you change in this situation, but they never do.
If you don't put enough postage, it might get sent back to you, or it might arrive at the destination postage due, meaning that the U.S.P.S. will expect the recipient to pay the balance of the postage.
Please be aware that the Post Office will not accept certain packages in the mailbox. Some packages (either because of their weight or whatever) must be mailed in person at a post office facility.
You can look up the postage rates and figure out how much postage you want to put on your envelope at www.usps.com.

Yes, you can do this as long as the stamps are at least the equivalent of the postage due. If you're under, it will get sent back to you, so over-estimate the cost. I do this all the time and it's not a problem.

Not unless you are under the amount.
Go to usps website to get an idea of how much you should put on.
I have done this many times, but i use the post office a lot so i have a good idea what postage is.
Figure 5 sheets of paper is an ounce.
don't forget to figure in the weight of your envelope.
there are different prices for parcel post, media mail, first class, priority mail, etc. you should mark it how you want it to go,
probably first class.

Go for it. I do it all the time but don't expect a refund if you paid too much postage because they won't pay it. Funny how that works though. They let ya know if there isn't enough postage.

No, you can do that. I work for a professional attorney's office and we do it all the time. Any idea how much it weighs? If you email me I can tell you how many stamps! We have a chart here at the office!

No, you can always put extra postage. I think a manila 9x12 envelope is about 90cents, so put at least 3 stamps on your mail.

They don't care if you have too much postage on something, just that you have ENOUGH postage. They won't send it back for too much postage!
