it's "ee-rock", just like Iran is pronounced "ee-ron", not "I ran".

There was a massive war in the 80's between iraq and iran 1 million soldiers died !! . This makes the current dispute in iraq look like childs play, We are not at war with Iraq we are on a peace mission but the locals are blowing themselves up.
So how you pronounce it is of little importance.

Its i'rak. In the phonetic alphabet there is an i without a dot which is pronounced almost like an 'uh'. Only the USA say Eye- rak.

there reallly is no correct pronounciation in the english language because it is a country that has a name that comes from a different language. so anywhere that they dont speak Arabic, any prounounciation is acceptable. But, in Arab, the correct pronounciation for Iraq is EAR - A(like in amish) - k

I believe the correct pronunciation is "ee-rack", phonetically.
The americans generally use "eye-rack", as they did with "eye-talian", but americans can't pronounce words properly anyway.
