I think the best place is a small break away country just to the left of Lithuania up from the Highway of the Spilled Sores, called Leprosia. The benefit of living in Leprosia with leprosy is that you really don't have to worry about learning the languages because the huge sores make them keep their mouths shut! Wish I had met my wife there.

Molokai in Hawaii is one of the most famous former Leper colonies.
Leprosy a skin bacterial infection is also called Hansen's disease and can be treated and no longer requires people to be isolated.
Sulfone drugs introduced as early as 1946 have been able to cure the disease. New drugs are being used as most bacteria form resistence to them.
So basically you can live anywhere.
And don't mess with Armadillos as they are known to carry the bacteria.

Please refine your question.
Do you mean where on the body does it show up?
Where can you get good treatment for the condition?
Or where do you go once you get it to "get away from it all"?
