Yes it is possible, he can do anything he wants to do. He did create us, so he can surely control us if he wanted to. I don't believe that he does control us, because if he did, this world would be a whole lot different and better than it is now. He lets us make our own choices, but he does put it in our head what is wrong and right, that would be or conscious. Now if you ask him to steer you in the right direction or help with something, than I believe he would help you with that.

Hmm, I once saw an episode of "It's a Miracle" where a wife saw a woman talking to her husband on a bench outside the back window, and later the husband said he had made a decision but was mystified when the wife asked who had been sitting by him giving him advice - he had seen no one. I think we have guardian angels who often come to inspire us to make certain big decisions or to refrain from engaging in harmful activities. God Himself also answers prayers - through the Holy Ghost. Whether it comes from Him or His servants, it is the same for me. As far as "controlling" thoughts, I think that is more the realm of Satan and trying to drag people down to a lower level of thinking and convincing people they have to stay on that lower level.
P.S. I see a couple of answerers referring to God supposedly hardening Pharaoh's heart. In my opinion, that is a mistranslation, and Pharaoh hardened his own heart. However, God made use of that unbelief and showed His power multiple times until the great symbolic act of how it was the Firstborn who would be slain, as a subconscious reminder to the Egyptians to let the Israelites go, as the Christ would need to come through that lineage in another land and not in Egypt in captivity.

God loves you and gave you freedom. Freedom of choice. So if yuo screw up it's your fault. If you do good it's how God intended it to be. Still freedom, together with love and life (which makes freedom and love possible) are our most precious gifts. No God won't interfere. Life is not a computer game.

Yes. In fact, it happened in the bible.
After Moses told Pharaoh to let God's people go 6 times, just to be refused again, God caused Pharaoh's heart to be hardened. He caused him to remain stubborn so he would experience the full helping of His wrath.

No God gave us free will to make our own decisions and live our life the way we want to so why would he control your thoughts?

God gave us free will, he does answer questions, which is personal revelation, but the only time he tells us what to do or not to do, is if we are going to be harmed, and many do not listen anyway.

No. I have never seen any satisfactory evidence that there is a god that presently interacts in human affairs in any way whatever.

It's called "a word of knowledge" by evangelical christians. They suddenly understand what they must do because god "spoke" to them. It's kind of like telepathy I guess.
