I have a friend that may have a child w/ autism, she is so depressed and I fear she doesn't have enough information on how to care for her son's special needs. Is there anything out there that she can read or maybe a support group that she can join? Any information that you can pass my way would be a help.

I have a 10 yr.old with autism. Your friend is terrified and I know how she has felt, Please feel free to email me and I will give you a list of sites and books I recommend to parents I have worked with. Please tell her not to just do a blind search for autism info online. Many times, these searches will lead into sites run by parents. These places are super for parents to vent, talk to and support one another, but for someone who is still just beginning the journey, much of what they read will sound disheartening, scarey and just overwhelming.

Autism is different in every child. There are very high functioning autistic children and then there are very low functioning autistic children. Your friend needs to talk to her child's Dr. that diagnosed him/her with autism and find out exactly what type of autism her child has. Then look up some things about that. There's tons of information out there now on autism since it is pretty common. Most autistic children are very smart! Tell your friend not too worry about it too much...Good luck!

http://www.babycenter.com/boards/bcuschild.....These are some really helpful websites where she can talk to other women going through the same thing as her. I have a little brother of whom is autistic, he is 15 and cannot really speak all that well and he cannot do a lot things other kids can do, it is a challenge but its one of the biggest blessings God has ever given me and my family. He is sooo sweet and caring. It can get difficult at times but u learn from experience with him. She will learn how to deal with it after she has her baby, My brother was terribly sick when he was a baby and we are all just thankful he made it through. He has gotten a lot better and im sure your friend and her baby will make it out just fine. God blessed her with this child for a reason, instead of being depressed she should look at it as a miracle and that it will change her life in a good and positive way. Good Luck to her and God Bless her a happy healthy baby.=)

I personally do not have an autistic child but my grandma watch a child while I was growing up. He is now 11 years old and you would never be able to tell he was once autistic. His mom had teachers and schooling and everyone always worked with him. A big key in the development is support you need to have your family and yourself helping him or her to improve and try. A good support system for the child helps a lot, they understand that they are loved and cared for and that their family is trying to help. Try not to get frustrated with the child, if you feel that you are going to get to that point have someone else come and help them.

There is tons of help! You can look online for groups and organizations. Depending on the age of the child, you can ask his teacher or day-care provider .... if they are any good, they will know of or be able to locate some helpful groups. Just look out there: there is help available. Please don't let your friend struggle alone needlessly.

She should ask the physician about a support group in the community. If there isn't one she could create her own support group. Also there are groups online.

i think of it would be a extra valuable thought to start to suitable his hands with surgical treatment first. this may be somewhat painful and if there's a vaccination reaction, it could circulate not noted. The vaccine time table is INSANE. I firmly have faith that autism costs will circulate down in the event that they shrink out the unneccessary ones. Hepatitis A and B shouldn't acquire to youthful young ones. Hepatits A is exceedingly basic like the flu and that i've got not heard of every person loss of existence from it. Hepatitis B ought to acquire to babies who want blood products. Hepatitis B would be deadly in case you grow to be a persistent provider. Hepatitis B ought to acquire formerly they grow to be sexually lively or want physique piercings or tattos. Any mixture vaccine ought to acquire one after the other whilst a threat. The MMR is one that particularly needs to acquire one after the other. My son had antibodies to mumps and rubella with the 1st shot and hence purely required measles as a booster. Its a stable thought to ascertain for titers to do away with unneccessary booster photos. Please area out the vaccines so unneccessary rigidity is only not placed on a coming up immune equipment. My son has regressive autism. He has heavy metallic toxicity using fact of each and every of the crap they put in the vaccines. He replaced into very sparkling in his speech and unexpectedly began dropping words to the factor of being speechless. he's now semiverbal yet has complication with motor administration of the muscular tissues necessary for speech. This motives him to mispronounce words, words that for the time of the previous he mentioned with out any problem. Vaccines and antibiotics are a unfavorable mixture. Repeated rounds of antibiotics, vaccines, and unknown nutrition sensitivities brought about my son's autism. GMO ( genetically altered organism) in nutrition helped set off my son's autism. Soy, wheat, and corn are meals that have been genetically altered. circumvent soy in any respect expenditures. when I bumped off soy from his nutrition plan, my son's habit dramatically more desirable. Soy has an estrogenic effect and shouldn't acquire to boys. All you ought to be concerned approximately is your son's skill to fulfill developmental milestones. shop him busy with activities that stimulate his recommendations and shop movies and television to a minimum. stable success to you. do not enable your mom get the excellent of you.
