Is it better to dry your hair with cold air or is this for a certain style?

Cold air does not damage the hair like hot.

"Hair dryers and other heated appliances first soften the keratin of the hair. If they are too hot, they can actually cause the water in the hair to boil, and tiny bubbles of steam then form inside the softened hair shaft. The hair is thereby weakened, and may break altogether."

The cuticle of the hair lifts with heat according to my former hairstylist. Therefore, I imagine cool air would help the cuticle settle back into place and "seal" the hair shaft preventing frizz. It should also help "set" the hairstyle.

It is blowing air that will help dry your hair without using the heat that can burn and damage hair...takes longer but will still give your hair the 'fluff' some people want.

It for no heat. Maybe when it hot weather and your hair will air dry. High heat settings can cause split ends.

I use it when it is humid so that 1st, I don't pass out from the heat...& 2nd, to avoid the poof that hot air actually causes.

You are supposed to use it when you are done drying. It is supposed to set your style and close the follicles.
