When you find the right person your desire will overcome your fear.
Also, at the age of 26 you are probably not physically, technically a virgin. Your hymen is more than likely not intact due to pap smears, use of tampons or something else so the pain shouldn't be bad.

For me, I thought it was going to hurt a lot more than it actually did. It's more like a lot of pressure rather than actual pain. And our vaginas are made to tolerate some pain... like giving birth. The first time will be a little uncomfortable but it's exciting. That's why you should do it with a guy you're really comfortable with. And after a few times, you'll start to really get into it and think, "What was I afraid of? This is great!"

Go buy yourself a dildo or a vibrator or even put a cucumber in a condom to practive on yourself. That way you can go as slow as you want and get the hymen breaking out of the way at your own speed. Chances are that if you have used tampons, it is already somewhat gone. Anyhow, you could get yourself good and drunk, whip out a really big toy and just get it the heck over with. It really isn't that bad, fear makes it worse though. If you have ever had yourself waxed down there, this will be cake. Good luck.

You will prob get loads of stick for this question but you need to relax in order to have sex, yes it hurts a bit but considering your age i dont think it will hurt as much as it would a younger woman because your hymen may already have broken by now, sex is a wonderful magical feeling and it will be even better when you relax and not worry about pain as you will feel pleasure in the end.

When you're with the person you love, it'll come naturally. Plus when a woman is turned on, she becomes 'wet' which helps the penis to slip in easily, if u're a virgin it'll just feel tight but it'll pass and u will soon be enjoying it. Just a few seconds and then ur fear would turn to pleasure :D

I don't think that you have a fear of sex. It depends if you REALLY are connected to someone intimately before you have sex. If you aren't in love with that person, then why are you having sex? There are some women who regret losing their virginity. So, it is best to wait until the "right" guy comes along.

You need to relax...when the person is right and the moment is right you will be fine...when it all comes together for you you will realise that the pleasure far outweighs any minor pain.

the right man will be considerate of this. he will know to be gentle and take things slow. passion may override your fear if the time is right.
a previous anser mentiond that it may not be bad. if you use tampons, it really won't be.
good luck. it only hurts once but briefly and is well worth it. just relax! ;-)
