I have been smoking for about five years. I have tried in the past to quit smoking. I do good for about one week then I start back up again but I smoke a little bit heavier each time I quit. Is there any kinda meds or help ads out there that I can try. I tried the patch and the gum. I didn't help me..

I quit (once) using the patch...It really does reduce your craving to light up. I am getting ready to set another date and try again...

Definitely don't hang out with smokers for a while!! THat is hard...Two beers while hanging with smoking friends and I gots to HAVE ONE!!!

Hypnosis might be an option. Or you could talk to your doctor, there are some miraculous medications out now that will help you quit. And find yourself some kind of support group that you can turn to when the cravings get to be too much.

THE FIRST WEEK IS THE HARDEST TO DO. BUT AFTER THAT IT TAKES WILL POWER TO NOT GO AND GET A PACK . AFTER THE SECOND WEEK IT GETS BETTER AND SO ON. I KNOW BECAUSE I DID IT THAT WAY COLD TURKEY IT'S BEEN A YEAR AND 1 WEEK TODAY SO FAR! YOU ALSO HAVE TO REMEMBER NOT TO BE AROUND PEOPLE WHO SMOKE OR AROUND THE SMELL OF CIGARRETS FOR A WHILE AT THE BEGINING SO THE TEMPTATION WON'T GET YOU. GOOD LUCK!

I am trying to quit in a way. If you can stop for a week then that is great. Try setting a date when to stop, don't hang out with smokers for at least a month. This should work in your case.

Try a product called "Smoke Away". It is a dietary suppliment that reduces your cravings and helps with the mood. I wont say it is easy but the best I ever used.

honestly you will not quit until your mind is ready to quit. maybe try setting a date and telling yourself that on this certain date you are quitting and when you have a craving try excersizing or chew some gum. That is how my boyfriend did it-cold turkey!

the tobacco companies sponsor all kinds of quit smoking programs so do most states if you are in u.s. these programs offer a survey to see what kind of a smoker you are and how your most effective way of quitting would be.contact your local health debt. for more info.

I`m afraid you`ll have to try good old will power. I think this has to be the very hardest habit to break. I still can`t do it but I`m going to keep on trying until I do. Good Luck.

nicotrol inhaler .. you have to get a presciption from your Doctor but it works pretty good. Every time you want a cig you puff on it for 10-15 minutes. it still gives you the nicotene without the poisons.
