I'm attending a Mary Kay party over the weekend. Since it's starting at 11AM, the host has decided to serve lasagna and tossed salad for lunch. I'm planning on bringing something healthy as a side dish or appetizer. (I'm on Weight Watchers and want to supply something I know is good but low in points.) What suggestions do you have?

Rice side dishes are always good and you can add your own seasoning and flavors. Use plain rice.

One recipe I made was really good, since I do not like rice, it was good. I took some boil-in-bag rice and some potatoes, carrots, onion, shallot, garlic, celery and leeks, put in some vegetable broth like a soup, boiled vegetable half way then added rice out of the package and cooked til rice was tender. It was really good and healthy. I am vegetarian also so I am always coming up with delicious healthy recipes! Hope this helps!! Good luck!!

Fresh fruit with a dip. Folks can just much on the fruit, or add the dip for a little decadence. Sour cream with a bit of brown sugar (sometimes I add a little Grand Mariner or rum) makes a great fruit dip.

Dinner rolls with a bit of lemon zest or herbs mixed in make a nice side.

Bruschetta might be great for that! It's chopped tomatoes and spices on a crispy bread. Very festive and healthy!

Here is a recipe that they make on pizza crust, but you could substitute whatever you prefer for your own version.

I really like both fruits and fresh vegetables better, however they look and taste. You desire a little of both.

You can make a natural salsa. It's low in fat and low in carbs. When you make it yourself, you know there are no preservatives.
