I've observed four diferent types of questions here.
1. Questions that are nothing more than a "teaser" for the coming "story." I find these ineffectual and out of place on this site. It's a misuse of Yahoo! Answers.
2. Questions that are specifically designed to insult and spread hatred. Need I say more?
3. Questions that are there to make you laugh. Thank you "What Should I Do -- Retard."
4. Questions actually intended to solicit answers. These people are either looking for direction or clarification.
The first two are worthless and should be reported at every opportunity. The third is mostly harmless and kind of funny. The last is much rarer, but should be examined and answered and respected. This is the purpose of Yahoo! Answers.

I haven't asked or answered many questions here, but I've read quite a few of them. My opinion is that a vast majority of the questions just aren't suited to be answered in this Yahoo! Answers format. They're really discussion/debate type questions, which are better suited for usage on a true message board forum. This Religion & Spirituality section is kind of out-of-place, I feel. The purpose is for fact-finding, but most of what is discussed in R&S doesn't deal with facts, but rather just opinions and feelings.

I divide them into four categories:
1. Lame
2. Annoying/Attacking
3. An opinion in the guise of a question used excuse to shove opinions down others throat.
4. Good questions.

Yours are by far the most entertaining questions. I mostly come to this section for entertainment. I got my dad hooked on this too. He doesn't even bother going to other sections. He just likes raising hell with religious nuts. I suppose his dad being a minister might have been part of his problem that way... *sigh*
Me, I like annoying people ALL over Y!A.

the quality varies from day to day and hour to hour.
many seem to be attempts to bait people of other views to react emotionaly. A few try to offend. A greater amount seem to be more sincere. I see much change in the Q and As over all.
there is a bit more adherance to the TOS and fewer whiney qs where they complain about their previous Q being deleted.

I'm thoroughly appalled at people's insistence on the existence of ghosts, demons, gods, leprechauns, spirits, spooks, devils, ET's and whatever other phantasms come to mind. It's not surprising however that these same people cannot construct even the most rudimentary sentence in English, especially when they ineptly attempt to refute science in general and evolution in particular.

Like anything else there is good, bad and in between. I mostly ignore any question proselytizing or telling me I'm going to hell. I like the questions that are designed to make on think and look at themselves best.

They give me joy whether I agree with their position or not. I think its important to explore our spiritual beliefs and the basis for the opinions and conclusions we draw. I'm so grateful that there are people out there willing to talk to me about these issues.
God bless,
Laura

Some are great, some are stupid but funny, some piss me off for one reason or another. I just have fun mostly, until a serious topic comes up that I have to put my two cents in on.
