Doesn't matter which "diet" you choose to follow, the only way to lose weight for good is to excercise.
When it comes to what you eat, just remember the golden rule,
"everything in moderation"!!!

As someone else said, calories eaten turn into fat on your body IF they are not burned to keep your body moving/alive. If you burn 2000 calories a day, for instance, and are eating a fat free diet of 2500 calories a day (these are just examples) you will store 500 calories per day in your body. It takes 3500 calories to create one pound/or 3500 calories of burning (exercize) to lose one pound of fat.
You need some fats in your diet to stay healthy, just the right kinds of fats (like from nuts, fish and veggies) Our brains are MADE up, literally, from cholesterol! Just avoid meat fats, fried foods, etc.
But a calorie is really just a unit to measure energy. You must regualte what you take in and what you are buring...to lose any weight. Thast why someone can eat only candy and sugar, and lose weight. They just make sure that the calorie intake is correct (Of course after some time they'd be malnoursihed!)

You have to burn more calories than you take in to lose weight. Low calorie usually means low fat because fat calories are high and you don't get full from small amounts.

No, when you "burn fat" you're in fact burning calories. In order to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you're intaking. Time to get rid of your Snackwells stash, love.
