why do christians bash islam and vice versa?

quran 5:85 strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the jews and pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believerswilt thou find those who say, "we are christians" : because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant... so why all the fighting?

Good question.
If Christians and Muslims believe in the same God, there should be no need to bash each other; true Muslims would believe in Jesus; however, Islam leaves itself open for disagreements among Christians since the Quran says to KILL Christians...and Jews. It's strange that while Mohammad recognized Jesus as a great prophet, he would go all out to condemn the followers of the same Jesus.
Muslims need a good bashing.

I don't bash Islam. I own two copies of the Qu'ran, and yet I'm a Christian.
I think EVERYONE should do with a little bit more religious tolerance.
The only religion I really have a problem with is satanism.

We CRITICIZE Islam because it deserves criticism, and we want Muslims to discover the true God, not the moon god that is Allah.

Islam criticizes Christianity because they believe we are infidels and a threat that must be dealt with.

Compare some of the posts by Christians and Muslims. Christians are critical, but inviting. Muslims are militant.

Most Muslims do not realize that Islam allows no freedom. This alone should make them realize that it is Satan behind Islam, and not an eternal God. Satan wishes only to enslave Muslims to help him enslave the entire world. He does this by turning them away from the truth -- that salvation is yours already, if you only have faith in God's Son, Jesus. Islam is a religion based on intimidation and fear. The word "Islam" does not mean "peace." It means "submission." A Muslim is not allowed to leave Islam or else risk his or her life. At birth, a person is branded either Muslim or non-Muslim depending on one's descent.
