Dear Tangerine--Yes, of course! God uses all kinds of ways and all kinds of people to speak to people. In the OT, he spoke through a donkey when the prophet refused to hear God. It's a neat story! Years ago my father did some work for Jerry Falwell. My father and mother both thought he and his wife were very dear persons. They may or may not influence "you" in a positive way, but that doesn't mean they don't meet the need of someone else. I think we are tremendously influenced by the media. Maybe you should take the time to go meet these two persons since before deciding how you feel about them.

To kinda contradict your question a man doesn't persuade you to christianity, it is the conviction of the Holy Spirit that draws you to Him. So, no I wasn't persuaded by a man, but I did get saved due to the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. And by the way, Jerry Falwell used to be a great man of God but his church has gone liberal which really isn't good.
