Do you believe that you can be reincarnated as any living thing, not just another animal? Do you believe that you could be a virus just as well as an elephant or a flower?
If so, how does that effect the way that you treat other living things now?

Bhagavad Gita is Authoritative book on the science of Reincarnation. It is said
It is explained that, the existence of Live is due to soul. The body is already dead matter. Hence all living entity has soul even the bacteria, virus, elephant, or plant.
"Whatever state of being one remembers when he quits his body, O son of Kunti, that state he will attain without fail." (BG 8.6)
You can reincarnate even as man, or even as beings in other planets and other forms of life not found in this planet.

Bhagavad Gita explains that what ever life you take in this material world, there will be suffering. The only place without suffering is Kingdom of God.
God also says
"And whoever, at the end of his life, quits his body, remembering Me alone, at once attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt." (8.5)

Other living entities are this treated as if they are same souls as we are.
Devotees pray to God that even if you want me to be born again, My only interest is that I will be able to hear your Glories and remember you. I am not interested to be born as very rich or Powerful if that condition is not met, better that i may be born as an insect in house of a devotee where I can hear those glories.
