Of the missiles the nation has tested, the one that flew over Japan has an estimated range of 2,400 miles. North Korea did test far an inter Continental missile with a projected range of over 8,000 miles. This missile failed and blew up. It is safe to assume that the nation can hit Japan with a missile.

I think that they boast it can reach to just off the coast of CA. But I mean come on - they are boasting about things they do not have the capability to carry out. They are like a 5 year old learning 1 +1 and going out to say - they are going to compete in a college level math competition. They are like a little lamb - boasting about being a fiece tiger. If they did try to set off a bomb it could just as easily have an accident and blow themselves up.

Estimates I have seen seem to suggest they can just barely reach California.

That is somewhat sketchy of course. One thing is sure. They can hit Seoul and that ain't good.
