Not exactly true. Like the penis, the clitorus is filled with nerve endings and is very sensitive. When aroused, it will become engorged and be more apparent than usual. But it is not a penis!

In evolutionary terms, it is a female version of the same organ. Sort of like male nipples. I don't know why you should have an "eww" reaction to that. Does the male organ disgust you?

As a matter of fact - Yes, it is in fact the bit that grows into a penis if you turn out to be a boy. You will also notice that it becomes erect when you are aroused!

Every fetus starts out with a clitoris and if it is a male then the penis grows out from the clitoris and if it is a female, then the vagina forms and we just keep the clitoris.
