At 18 you have no problem, at 17 you need parents consent! Every branch has reserves, but for the best benefits and the most recognition, join the Marines, it is a class act! You will never regret it, Boot Camp is a little rough but can save your life one day you'll be a much stronger person and have life long friends!

All branches of the military have reserve programs and there is the National Guard in your state. There are various types of enlistment programs available but, not at 15. If you still want to join when your 18 that's great but, FINISH HIGH SCHOOL FIRST.!!! Sure, you could quite school and get a GED but with that High School Diploma in hand you've got a much better start to your military career, however long that might be. You can also join the delayed entry program while in your senior year. That's when you actually enlist in the reserve program of Any one of the branches of service then report for Active Duty after graduation. That is The Best Way to Go. There might be a program near you that's similar to the Boy Scouts. One is the Sea Cadets (Navy); and I think the Air Force has a kind of Air Cadet program. I would personally recommend the Navy, being an ex swabby but choosing to join the Military can provided numerous opportunities if you provide the desire and initiative. Good Luck. In Closing, The First and Most Important thing is Enjoy every moment of 15, 16 ,17 and then 18 will take care of itself. James

You definitely need to finish school first. True you could go in during the summer between your junior and senior years and go through boot, but if something happens and you don't graduate then the military will involuntarily seperate you from service with no chance of getting back in. All branches have a reserve, and you might also try either the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard in your state. If you want a taste of what it would be like, I encourage you to find one of the ARMY or USMC ROTC programs or find the Navy's Sea Cadets or the Air Force has the Civil Air Patrol all of which if you rank high enough could get you one more stripe coming out of basic.

All the branches have the reserves. Most people use the reserves in order to have an avenue to pay for college. With you thinking about it without finishing HS it would be worthless. I believe the Army have a program to where you can go to Basic during the summer between your Jr and Sr year. They wont talk to you until you are 17 but once you turn 17 just go talk to them about it.

Why join the military look at Peace Corp. Trust me there is no glory in being a soldier. Look at me, dude, I am almost 40 years old, and I can't play any type of sports anymore, plus my head is so messed up I need meds to make it day by day. Is that the future you want? Walk around a local VA hospital, and look at us, and ask yourself is if it is worth it.
Finish school, enjoy life, and kept away from the military.

i would def worry about high school but YES you can join at 18 and still be in HIGH SCHOOL. You may end up going to basic your junior year (summer) and come back your senior year with military rank. i have tons of friends who did this.
good luck.

You need a high school diploma to join right now. Unless you can double up on your classes and graduate early you are going to have to finish it.

a level is in basic terms one in each of countless standards to be an Officer. seem into the ROTC software on the faculty you're finding at attending. Kill 2 birds with one stone - earn a level and value on the comparable time.

Worry about High school first, by the time you graduate the enlistment regs would be different.
