Well you are training your body right to be scared in the morning. If you keep telling yourself I am scared in the morning you will be. If that idea keeps popping in your head ignore it or think of something else something positive like I am going to wake up tomorrow to a beautiful day. It is very important to have good self talk. As being concerned for your job and future take 1 minute at a time only think about and concentrate on the now. All of these things are very hard to do. But once accomplished you will be a well balanced person. Good Luck

I'd also tend to agree with Nashville somewhat on this question. I also think you may be downplaying this a little. It looks as if your problem is more serious than you make it out to be. A year you say? Constant worrying? BY THE END of the day you feel fine? Doesn't sound like you're doing too well in the beginning or the middle either. You should really seek a professional for this type of problem.
I have similar problems as you do, but I have problems with anxiety and depression which only get worse over time. I constantly worry about many things, including rejection and performance issues when it comes to school, work, social functions etc...
Now everyone has anxiety at some point, especially when starting a job etc...and that's completely normal. The thing that worries me though is that you've said this has been going on for a year and you only feel fine by the end of the day.
I'm certainly not saying you are depressed or have anxiety issues...that's why we have psychiatrists. You should really look into maybe seeing a professional. They don't bite, many health plans cover them, and you have nothing to lose. Try and deal with your problem sooner than later.
I wish you all the best. - Alby

If you need to talk, I am a good listener. It seems we both have the same thing going here, I quit my job because the way I was treated and I was hurt on the job. I feel much better now, and I don't have the stress and anxiety I once had while at my last job. I am a full time student now. Let me know If I can be of any help...

Consider talking to a doctor about whether you might need antidepressants. For some people, biochemical depression (depression that either can't be traced to a distressing life situation/event, or is disproportional to that situation/event) follows a pattern of being worse in the early morning, perhaps due to hormone levels that change in our bodies while we sleep.
That said, being out of work for an extended period of time is stressful for anyone. Seeing a counsellor might help you deal with the fears you're experiencing and boost your self-esteem.
Me, I like to cover all the bases, so I'd probably do both: see a doctor *and* a counsellor or therapist.

Your problems are much deeper than can be resolved at this site, and as someone who interviews people on a daily basis, I can assure you that your lack of self confidence is readily apparent, and that is not an attractive quality to any employer. Work on your self esteem, then worryabout finding a job. Obviously you must have financial means if you have been able to be out of the workforce for a year.

I agree with Nashville. You need to do some soul searching, and really think about what you would like to do, and if that is something you don't know much about, then get some training, or go to school to learn it.
No matter what you do, you need to feel positive about your ability to perform, so that is where you should concentrate your efforts for now.
As your confidence in yourself improves, you might find that your waking feelings improve as well.

Give yourself something to look forward to upon waking up. Such as, a hot bubble bath, your favorite breakfast, and hour with a good book in a cozy corner...any little thing that you can look forward to instead of worrying first thing. Then you can do the job search later on in the day.

You sound like you are overwhelmed. First you need to find a job that you enjoy. Wether it is waiting tables or sitting at a desk. Hope you find what you are looking for. Good luck.
