If You are talking about a urine smell, go to www.stinkypets.com.
You can purchase the recipe, (THAT WORKS) for $7.99. It is simply three household products mixed together. We did, and were shocked and amazed. Only problem......is our animals keep doing it. But You can make a 32 0z. batch for about $1.20.
Check their site out. I am not affiliated. But God Bless the folks for figuring this out.

I have two dogs and i use to get the same smell when i would walk into my house also, so i started using glade-plug-ins the one with the fan.I also put a odour eater in the corner of where they sleep and this seems to work for me. Scented candles and scented oils are very good to.The only advice that i can really give you is to bath your dog(s) often and when they are completely dry sprinkle a little baby powder on them. There's no real way to get rid of the smell of a cat or dog, if we want pets them we have to put up with the smell. As for cats you must change their littler boxes often and try a sprinkle of baking soda with the litter.

Pets - we love 'em, but they sure can get whiffy! Here's a couple of things to try:
Enzymatic cleaner (enzyme-based) for carpets, fabrics. Drs. Foster & Smith has one that worked well for us (their house brand) - smelled like cinnamon.
Put bowls of white vinegar, or activated charcoal (available in the aquarium supplies section of the pet store) around the house - high, where the pets can't get into it. Change every few days until things improve, then weekly.
For around the cat box, there are bags of volcanic rocks that absorb odors - you set them out in the sun to renew them a few times a year, and they last a very long time. Available at Drs. Foster & Smith, and probably other pet suppliers, if you check around.
You do want to watch room sprays and deodorizers, like Febreze - some pets are allergic.
Good luck!

I had three cats and no one even knew they lived at my house. If the litterbox is kept immaculate and the floors and carpets are cleaned regularly there shouldn't be an overwhelming pet smell. Is it the animals themselves that smell?? The smell has to be coming from somewhere, I am sure it's not just floating in the air. You need to find out what smells and spray some Fabreze.

I love my dogs too, but the doggy smell is a "side -effect" if you will. I have no urine smell- just doggy smell. I have 2 rottweilers, so a bath is quite a production in terms of work, plus one has dry skin- and frequent baths are out of the question.
I have been using baby wipes everyday on them, I rub them all over with them. They LOVE this! They see me get the box of wqipes out, and its a contest to see who gets the first rubdown!! This has cut down on alot of the smell for me anyway.

There's a product out there called Nil-odor. It's hard to find but you can order online. Works like a charm and you can put it in a carpet cleaning machine - cleans spots and leaves a citrus scent

There is not anything to remove the particles of odor and other particles left by the pets, you may need to change everything in your house or try any product out there but more chemicals at home is not good.
Kids will adjust their lives without pets.
