and see that leglal Mexicans have a almost 50% highschool drop-out rate. and illegal Mexicans even more. Not the mention the fact that Americans were paying for that wasted education and not the shameless illegals. If you are such hard workers don't you think that finishing school would be a priority.....well a lot of them have a kid before they graduate too.....you should be proud of that

It does bother me that those statistics are so high... if they are correct.

However, it doesn't hurt my self esteem one bit.... I'm not a drop out... and neither are my children... two of them go to FSU and one will be following in a few years.... she is currently an "A" - "B" student in middle school.

In the past seven years.... the valedictorian out of your local high school has been Mexican.

That's what I'm "Proud of!!!"

Did you run the stats of the little white girls that are running around pregnant at 14...?

I blame bilingual education for much of this. Children who do not speak English well are 30% more likely to drop out than those that do. I know live in a border area where many don't speak English well, or at all. Dropout rates are high, and it affects the later education they will get(reading a science or history book in high school, for example). For this reason some do not attend college, they can't keep up with the reading. Yet, I previously lived in an area with no bilingual education offered, and after tutoring some of the students at the high school, most of them went on to pursue advanced degrees.
I don't care what other languages they know or speak, but for the sake of the children bilingual should be eliminated.

We do not advocate nor condemn high school drop-out rates (which you did not provide a reference of a statistic number for the readers) due to the critically dangerous and life-threatening events in schools throughout our nation of sexual molestations, hostage situations of students, murder and suicide of triggerman that the Columbine, Colorado student killings brought to international focus and has not ended to this date, the most recent school murders committed in an Amish Village outside of Philadelphia, PA by a 31-year old married man with 3 children and the student who came armed with a gun to his high school and killed his principal. This American high school murder phenomena is without precedent in the United States of America and is not exclusive to large metropolitan high schools and shows no sign of being understood or ceased in the near future. This cannot be overlooked by anyone in the United States, legal or illegal people. This situation should be on the minds of every person in this country as we approach this year's election date. It should be a concern to each and every man and woman's self-esteem to not be worried, shocked, and looking for reasons and solutions to the on-going wave of murderous crimes in our nation's schools. It demands attention on all of us and brings shame on those who do not recognize the terror students have witnessed or may yet to witness.
High school has always had students who drop-out or are expelled in every town and city in America and anyone can research statistics current and historically. High school pregnancy is not a modern day issue. Those issues cross all ethnic groups and have long histories.
However, the murder rampages in American schools today do NOT have statistics to mull over or compare. This is a true, real, and tremendously important priority to address for everyone. None of us should feel proud of the reality of what American education is experiencing in this time and should focus energy and attention to this issue or blame no one but ourselves what you stated as, "Americans paying for that wasted education.." The question of WHY is this happening needs to reach everyone's ears and hearts to begin to understand it.

I don't care about the illegal aliens. What really hurts is:

We spend $12 BILLION DOLLARS a year on primary and secondary school to educate children illegally here.

Then we spend $17 BILLION dollars a year to educate the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

It's like trying to educate apes.
