I had my feelings hurt lastnight. I was just wondering what really causes that? I know someone being mean will cause it, but what in the body makes your eyes tear up and like just make the feeling happen? If you know , thanks.

Its to do with the chemical reactions in the brain. If the body is stressed it releases cortisole, if it is frightened it releases adrenalin, and if it is sad it releases dopamine. There are many other chemicals also released. The combination of the chemicals released are what determines how the brain interpretes our feelings. The external stimulus is what causes the brain to release these chemicals.

It is no real physical thing that cause you to feel the way you do it is in your mind and at the time how you feel emotionally. Your brain sends signal of what it interprets and it's actions. For example if someones was suppose to call you a name then your brain will signal that as a hostile emotion and send a response to the rest of your body depending on you and how you handle it.

When a person's feeling gets hurt...It simply means that in your heart you might have cared for this person so much that you would not have suspected that this person would do this to you so the normal response from the brain is heartbreak!

Trust me feelings is an simple emotion that we all have and if you have a heart then you will shed tears of sadness and of course you will hurt.
