I have extremely low iron right now, and i'm trying to up it however I can. I found a great iron pill, which i'm taking, it is an over the counter pill, generic store brand, very small and doesn't bother my stomach as long as I take it after I eat. =) BUT, if you eat one bowl of total, that has 100% iron in it, which would help immensly in your case, they have several different kinds now. I really like the yogurt and raisin bran. Also, don't do spinich right now because of the ecoli recall, better safe than sorry. Look for foods that have high iron count. Pork is a good bet as well as oatmeal. (try dressing oatmeal up with honey, yummo!) Good luck in getting your iron count up, I feel much better as i've been doing this for a month now, i'm still not 100%. =)

Lean red meat is another source of iron. Any green leafy vegetables contain iron, and taking a multivitamin instead of just an iron supplement should help.

Red meat, eggs, green veggies. Also read labels at the supermarket. There are so many foods now a days that are fortified with iron. It may turn out to be your favorite cereal, juice or snack.
