I have a very demanding, busy job, and lately it seems as if my head is in the clouds and I just want to lay down and nap. Periodically I "snap out of it" and feel alert and clear-headed, but this is becoming the exception rather than the rule. I feel like I have to fight to wade through the cognitive haze in order to get anything done. I've asked my GP about it, and there are no obvious medical reasons for my exhaustion. I get 7-9 hrs sleep every night, drink 1-2 red bulls a day (to no avail), I do not suffer from depression, walk at least 2 miles a day, and I eat a healthy diet and take multivitamin supplements. Sometimes it occurs to me that everyone feels this "cloudy" but I do not recall it being so frequent in the past. Any advice, secret anti-fatigue recipes, observations would be much appreciated!

I was on Lexapro for anxiety-related symptoms for approximately a year, but I have been off at least six months.

I suggest that you get a second opinion. That isn't normal. Are you on any medications that could be causing the fatigue? Perhaps it's time for a med tweak or change.

you may just be stressed out. try to find yourself and activity that relaxes you and start doing that every day ex:reading a book, meditation, building models also i would get off the energy drinks , a lot of them have a lot of sugar and caffiene in them and when you come down from the energy high you can often get more tired than you were to start with, like a sugar crash, it make take some time before you feel better probably a few weeks, also caffiene can be addictive, you sound like you are on the right track with a healthy diet, if you dont already do this you may want to start drinking more water, like a said before it may take a little while before you notice a difference, but it does make a difference, also start to take multivitamins if you dont already, if you still have problem after doing this you may want to see a doctor and get blood work done you may have a thyroid problem, most of the time people asociate this with being overweight, this is not always the case your thyroid controls not only your metabolism but also heart rate blood pressure mood etc, ii had a thyroid problem and was very tired all the time but never became overweight, you probably DONT have a medical problem, especially if you've already checked, but please get off the energy drinks

Well this might sound stupid but you might need a vacation even if its just a day or maybe a week just to sleep a little and have fun Maybe your tiredness is coming from boredom? You may be busy but you might be bored. Also stop drinking energy drinks they will eventually get you sick like hospitalized sick.. My brother used to drink'em almost the same as you, 2 a day everyday, and he went into a nervous breakdown because of his day to day doings and since you do the same (working not enough sleep) you might end up the same.. Just be careful and take care!

Look up the adverse effects of those red bull type drinks. I don't think they are good for you. I am old and am just about sure if I drank one I would be in ER with heart attack.

There are some good suggestions here that you should pursue (like sleep apnea). Also, the caffeine in the red bulls might be having a "kick-back" effect (your adrenal glands are shutting down!).

Other than that, have you installed Carbon monoxide detectors in your house?

Do you have sleep apnea? If you wake up a lot that could be why, you might actually be sleep deprived even if you think you are sleeping 7-9 hours a day.

I had chronic fatigue as a teenager...I got it from Mono....Your white blood cells are not producing as they should...Go to your Dr. and have them run a complete blood test...could be a thyroid problem too...

Try drinking Goji Juice...it works..And take B-12
